Levi Barone is an Italian-African-American who lived in San Francisco but spent most of his childhood in Los Angeles. His father, Malino Barone, served in the Italian army as a tank mechanic and driver, and Levi grew up inspired by his father’s skills and discipline. Malino, recognizing Levi’s struggles with controlling his temper, introduced him to the French martial art Savate which is practiced in the italian army.

Levi has always enjoyed a close and loving relationship with his parents. His bond with his paternal grandfather was equally strong. After his grandfather’s death, the family relocated to San Francisco, where Levi and his father started Barone Works, a mechanics workshop. Levi also has a cat named Tiramisu.

Levi also has a vivid imagination, hearing voices from cars at the workshop telling him what was wrong with them.

Currently, Levi is one of the five heroes summoned from Earth through the Celestial Ritual to combat the Ten Titans threatening humanity’s existence. Despite being thrust into an unfamiliar world, Levi has chosen to help defend it due to the moral compass instilled in him by his upbringing.

He suffers from Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED), a condition that causes episodes of intense anger and impulsive behavior. While this has been a challenge, Levi takes medication to manage his condition and uses the lessons learnt during his time practicing Savate to compose himself.

Relationships

Caleb Lysses

Caleb is another hero summoned from Earth, and while he and Levi haven’t interacted much as of yet, they seem to have a friendly relationship, even if not much has been openly discussed between them.

However, they still managed to land themselves in a short argument during a group dinner when Aeric Eivil had provoked the two.

Vulcan Veil

Vulcan was one of the first people Levi felt a genuine connection with in the new world, with both being craftsmen of sorts, which created a common ground between them from Levi's perspective. However, despite this, Levi feels that their relationship got off on the wrong foot.

Levi’s had unintentionally acted arrogantly, seemingly questioning Vulcan's knowledge, who had dedicated his entire life to mastering his craft. With only modest experience in comparison, creating an unnecessary tension in their early interactions.

Still, Levi seems to genuinely respect Vulcan after seeing his skills in action. He aspires to learn from Vulcan and right the wrongs from their first interaction.

Aeric Eivil

Levi has a blind and seemingly ungrounded respect for Aeric Eivil, most likely due to Aeric’s military background just like Levi’s father. Having grown up admiring his father’s service and the values it represented, Levi almost instictively seems to place Aeric on a pedestal.

Even when Aeric attempted to provoke him by pointing out flaws he had observed, Levi remained calm and accepted Aeric’s critique at face value, treating it as guidance despite seeming unfounded.
